Anybody here from the early 60's
I attended the JFK school BEFORE it was called that. It was the German-American school when I started in the first grade. Then Kennedy was killed while I was a student, and they changed the name. I lived in housing right outside the school ...Taylor Str? I think? Apartment buildings. Gen. Clay and Kennedy came down that way in a parade, I'll never forget it. I've looked at the photos of how the school looks now, very impressive. In my day it was just a couple of buildings and a pretty fun playground. I probably won't get any answers, I don't see any members of this site that were there 40 plus years ago, but you guys should know, this school is a very historic landmark, and I'm happy to see that it's still around.

I started at JFK in 64. If you left a name, someone you know might answer!

My mom taught at tha school in the sixties, Nancy Hoenisch. I know the Pfefferkorns, but I didn't go until later.

Whoever you are, you should check out the directories of the first classes (class of 71, 72...)! The class of 72 is planning a reunion end of September 2007, but we'll get that into the newsletter as soon as things are clear!

Jay-Greetings from the Melvin family. If your mother is Inge in Yuma, AZ, then our folks were friends. I was @ JFK around 1963/1964 in 2nd/3rd grade.
